Major update
New version of DCP is now available with many new features and improvements.
This is major update built on new dotnet runtime with compatibility with HaloLink cloud platform going forward. HaloLink is a new api that all third party applications will be required to use to access Best Practice data in future. DCP is currently not using HaloLink but will be configured to use it in future releases. HaloLink will provide a more secure and efficient way to access data in the future.
This release includes many bug fixes and improvements to the user interface. You will notice that the application also has a new installer. The new installer will make it easier to install and update the application in future. The DCP is still installed to the users local AppData folder and does not require admin rights to install or run.
On start up the DCP will cache frequently used data. This will speed up the application and reduce the load on the server. However the initial start after first install will take a few minutes to complete the initial caching of data. Subsequent starts will be much faster.
DCP name has changed to DCP Docnotes. This is to reflect the fact that the application is now focused on providing a better user experience for clinicians. AI integration is also planned for future releases. Initial AI features will likely include audio transcription and summarisation of clinical notes. We are also looking at integrating with other AI services to provide more advanced features in the future.

Caveat
This is a major update and while we have tested it extensively, there may be some issues that we have not encountered. In rolling out this update the application will allow installing and running the new version or running the previous version.
If you encounter any issues with the new version, you can revert to the previous version by running the old version on startup. Once the new version has proven to be stable, we will remove the option to run the old version.
Future Plans
We are planning to release updates frequently with new features and improvements. The new updated code base will allow us to add new features more quickly and efficiently.
